Rosebery Primary and Middle Schools are now taking enrolments for the start of the 2011 school year.

Minister for Education and Training, Chris Burns, said the Territory Government has provided $59 million for the new schools.

“The Rosebery Primary and Middle Schools will be first-class facilities delivering students the best possible environment in which to learn,” Dr Burns said.

“I encourage Palmerston families to enrol their children in the new schools for the start of the 2011 school year.

“With Palmerston one of the fastest growing cities in Australia, the Henderson Government is providing infrastructure and facilities to meet the needs of Territory families.”

Mr Burns said the primary school has capacity for up to 600 students while the middle school can cater for up to 850 students.

“Budget 2010 included $14.1 million for 60 new teachers, 20 support staff and start-up costs for the new Rosebery Primary and Middle Schools,” he said.

An open day will be held on 28 August so parents can see first hand the facilities at the the schools.
